Well, as things go, my new bride (of 6 months) and I are expecting a baby in 3 more months. Go figure.
This is my wife's first child and she is occasionally a bit nervous. I do what I can to bring some calm and stability (I stopped drinking caffeinated soft drinks to be able do this.) We have two sets of doctors and related specialist, poring over lab reports and ultra-sound photos and videos, endless blood tests, DND tests and the likes. And, as this go, since we checked, there baby is healthy and lively.
On the lively front, I have to be mindful that the baby has ears now. Between the 5th and 7th month, a baby's hearing develops. Over the past month or so, I was talking to the baby (via my wife's stomach) in the evenings but this had to stop. In the past two weeks, it seems the baby could hear me and would become excited, kick and moving within the enclosed space of my wife. Needless to say, this was not comfortable for her and made sleeping a bit too difficult.
So, everything is good, moving right along. We have our little adventures here and there but we have come through unscathed. We look forward to moving from "2.75 Family" to a "3.0 Family" in early March 2010.
